On Sunday afternoon, July 29, Alumni Association members and their guests enjoyed a superb presentation by historian, Dr Ann Westmore, on the life of Dr John Cade, the discoverer of lithium in the treatment of bipolar disorder. The sixty attendees also enjoyed catching up with old friends during the cocktail party that followed Dr Westmore’s talk. Dr Westmore is the co-author with Dr Greg de Moore of a biography of Dr Cade entitled 'Finding Sanity: John Cade, Lithium and the Taming of Bipolar Disorder' published by Allen and Unwin in 2016. It is available in good book shops so for those who could not attend the event we highly recommend the book to you.
